It may be active at this point[edit]
A friend of mine had his VoIP adapter hacked to forward numbers through a "011-979" number If we can confirm this somehow, it might be worthwhile to update the article.
Contradiction on whether it is active.[edit]
The article states both:
The service is not yet known to be active[citation needed]. Once it is activated, it may not be available from every country[citation needed], even though there is minimal or no cost to the receiving customer, as interchange rates would need to be negotiated for countries to allow origination of calls.
and
IPRS phone numbers are used by the German malware manufacturer FinFisher for their Android Trojans.
These two statements seem contradictory. The latter has citations, and I suspect the former is outdated and should be removed. Freudinator (talk) 22:00, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
