Front organization[edit]

Compare the current version with this one. Why all references of being founded by the Soviet Union and the fact that it was a front organization were removed? The editor who removed them called it a "conspiracy", although it hardly is with the amount of references we have. Where I live, Finland, this organization is notable for the fact that the pro-Soviet taistoist professor Kaarle Nordenstreng was the chairman for 14 years. I agree that this article should also have "normal" information like it has now, but it shouldn't hide facts of Soviet control either. I will re-adding those references shortly. --Pudeo' 17:19, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I restored the information about KGB ties. By the way, the aforementioned chairman of the IOJ 1976-1990 Kaarle Nordenstreng was interviewed in the Finnish-language Helsingin Sanomat on 27 May 2009 in an article called Myötäjuoksija vaihtaa vapaalle: "'Ei IOJ ollut pelkästään Kremlin käsikassara, mutta totta kai se oli myös sitä. Järjestön toiminta oli kuitenkin kaikkea muuta kuin yksioikoista Kremlin perässä juoksemista', Nordenstreng puolustautuu."

English translation: "'The IOJ wasn't just a puppet of Kreml, although of course it was also that. However the activity of the organization was far from straightforwardly following Kreml's steps.', Nordenstreng defends himself." So even the organization's longest-serving chairman admitted it was a front organization, so I don't exactly know what's controversial. --Pudeo' 03:50, 11 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
