The Football Association[edit]

Because it is the original Football Association, it doesn’t have a geographic distinction in its name, it has always been correctly referred to as simply the Football Association or the FA. It’s area of influence is England and some crown dependencies. This article refers to it confusingly as “London, The Football Association”. There is a London Football Association (the LFA), which was formed in 1882, as the regional Football Association for inner areas of London but it did not play a role in the creation of the Law of the Game earlier in the 18th century.
