Founding date[edit]

Sources are inconsistent about the founding date of the IGI. The official launch was held on February 4, 2015, but a press release from the Li Ka Shing Foundation announced the funding of the new initiative on February 4, 2014. Internet Archive shows the IGI blog going back to August 5, 2014. It looks like the "official" founding date is February 4, 2015, but there was some level of activity in the year leading up to it.
