This article is confusing and incomplete. Especially, the calculation of so-called intrinsic value IV is not clear for me. What is scope of the sum operation? The sentence "where n is the number of examples left in the class after the test on the attribute" indicates that the definition depends on certain hidden model involving classification and tests.
