citations don't work[edit]

I'm sorry, I'm fairly new at this, but what does "citations don't work" mean? all of the links that are cited in the article are working links. do you mean something else by this statement? I have added extra links, including several publish articles in exercise science journals that are either about or reference the IOCT.

I understand that to much of the population, the IOCT may be unknown, but to virtually every living graduate of West Point, the IOCT is an exceptionally notable event - what Cadets like to call a "significant emotional event."

They weren't working technically- as in I would click on the superscript number and would not be redirected to the link at the bottom. After looking at some established articles I figured out what was wrong and fixed it: a review of the revision history should show how. It's fine now.

As for notability, well.....the amount of effort that has been put into writing and sourcing the article is astonishing. Once some admins discover the article, they might see it differently. Good luck. Sergeantgiggles (talk) 10:27, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

thanks! I'll keep watching and learning. Nick-D, if I understand correctly, you placed the tag on this article for notability and references. Does it meet the standard in your opinion now with the additional info I've added? if any other administrators have suggestions on how to improve this article and how to remove the tag, please let me know. I have taken the IOCT article and put the information in the USMA DPE article, since this article has yet to achieve notability standards. I feel that it does, but if it does not, could an administrator please let me know what it needs to merit its own entry. I feel its far more detailed and well written than the Sandhurst Competition article, which apparently does meet the notablity standards. Sandhurst is an optional event that has been in existence for about 30 years. The majority of USMA graduates never participate in it. To the contrary, every graduate of USMA since WWII has taken (sometimes many attempts) and passed the dreaded IOCT. Thanks --Ahodges7 (talk) 00:23, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed much of the IOCT data from the Department of Physical Education (DPE) page because I believe that this article meets notability criteria now. This article references four peer-reviewed scientific journals that either study or reference the IOCT. This should meet "notablity" requirements I think. The article still needs some work with references elsewhere. Unfortunatly, nearly all of the information about the IOCT history is on file at DPE USMA, and not widely published.
