Demonetisation of 50 paisa coin[edit]

This coin has long been demonetised no? I guess it was only some years back but still... People weren't accepting 50 paisa coins. Mentos, mangobite and several other things which used to cost 50 paisa were increased to 1 Rs as demonetisation of 50 paisa occurred.
