What is the source for the 4:42 length of the track? R-Tiztik 21:40, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

The official site says the video for the track is 4:42. Although the video could be have an edited version of the song, I doubt that is true, because their songs are generally not longer than that. = ∫ _t^c 5th Eye 16:44, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Leaked

Should the page really mention that the album is being pirated before the official launch ? That's a way to encourage piracy. The section doesn't even contain all the information.

It could encourage piracy yes, but this isn't the first album to have a section about its leak, and in a way, it is encyclopedic in that the leak was a part of the respective album's history. But to say the section doesn't even contain all the information is just silly — there's only so much you could say about a leak. R-Tiztik 20:00, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

"In Sorte Diaboli"?

There's been a lot of unexplained changes in what this is actually Latin for (Inter Tram says it means "In Genus Diaboli, so obviously not a comlete translation), but does anyone actually have a source for what it means? The translater (inter tran) was set for translating from english to latin.(obviously wrong if you want to translate in sorte diaboli) The word 'in' is very common and has a lot of meanings(in, on, near, with, at, etc), depending on the context. diaboli is the genitivus of diabolus. which has to do with possession. (eg. corpus diaboli means the devil's body). it could also mean 'devils'(plural nominativus) but I think this is not appropriate. the word 'sorte' is the ablativus of a word unknown to me. the ablativus refers to a place.(in special cases it could mean a lot of other things too) The combination with 'in' might just mean that it is in something. 'In the devil's <something>' or 'in <something> of the devil' would probably be correct.(<something> needs to be replaced by the meaning of sorte) But I can't say this for sure because I don't know what sorte means. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.93.217.75 (talk) 10:38, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Seems the only source for the current translation is gone. My translation: "In Sorte Diaboli" means "In the Fate of the Devil"; in (followed by an ablative) is just "in", "sorte" is the required ablative of "sors", which means "fate" or "oracle" (here it means fate, because the concept of the album is about a man who chooses the fate of the devil), and "Diaboli" means "of the devil". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.206.84.135 (talk) 16:27, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Dimmu Borgir is overall a black metal band. In Sorte Diaboli may not be "true" black metal in the case of bands like Gorgoroth and Mayhem, but the main genre of the album is symphonic black metal. 68.102.235.239 (talk) 04:03, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

"Symphonic extreme" is a subcat of the overall black metal style. You people who want to break genres, styles, subgenres, and subsubsubsubgenres down into specifics, really need to get off of that.
