Questionable inclusions

There are names on the list of In-yer-face playwrights which simply shouldn't be there. Simon Stephens? Naomi Wallace? Give me a break! The only playwrights who really perpetrate this sort of stuff are Mark Ravenhill, Sarah Kane, Jez Butterworth (sort of) and Antony Neilson. Now its very passe. We're looking for something else - something more complex, more human. What thes people slapped onto the stage is happening so much more in the world that we are realising that suffering isn't a game or a spectator sport but something real which we have to deal with, understand, fight, transcend. In-yer-face theatre was a dead-end spawned by the feeling that film (RESERVOIR DOGS etc) and novels (TRAINSPOTTING) etc were leaving theatre looking twee and non-yoof aurientated. Removed the red-linked names; added "notable" to section title; deleted unwarranted additions to section. Those included need to be notable enough to have articles about them in Wikipedia. The list of notable people has been nearly halved recently; it included about 32 people yesterday (even more before that, when it was first objected to); I've since revised it so that now includes about 19, five of whom need articles in Wikipedia. I provided an important missing source citation for quotation; I think I may have provided it earlier and it was deleted; but I haven't checked the editing history re: that. Someone else has added the wrong template to the section of notable names, and I replaced it with one that pertains to sections. Most of those names probably do come from Sierz's book and/or website, but I have not got the time to check each one. If one clicks on the Wikified links, one will be able to read the articles about those people; at least several of them do mention "in-yer-face theatre" in relation to them. I may add Sierz as (at least) a partial source citation for that list. [If one has a question about pertinent applicability of a particular name, one should add the "Fact" (missing citation) template after that particular name, not the whole section? --NYScholar (talk) 19:49, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

I've added sources and removed the names for which there are no sources provided in the articles about them in Wikipedia or otherwise. Many of those articles in Wikipedia are missing citations and linking to them does not solve this problem. Independent of those articles, source citations must be provided in this article, especially for controversial statements about living persons. See WP:BLP, WP:BLP#Sources, and WP:V#Sources, particularly as these policies and guidelines pertain to living persons mentioned in Wikipedia articles and in biographies of living persons in Wikipedia. --NYScholar (talk) 21:20, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
