Single release[edit]

Where's any reliable source that shows the song "I Wanna Be Your Slave" will be officially released as a single? The release of a music video does not make the song automatically a Single (music). From where arrives the information that the new date of release will be 9 July 2021? Even then such a date cannot be solely used ignoring the fact the song was charting for weeks on music charts before its supposed official release as a single.--ParoleSonore (talk) 22:04, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Alienautic what is a "radio single"? If you write "radio single" on Search it redirects you to Single (music) article on which there is nothing about radio single. You redirected the term to Contemporary hit radio which is a radio format, not a single format and it is absent from Category:Single types. Seemingly nothing in the provided reliable sources shows it was officially released as a single. --ParoleSonore (talk) 12:59, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There are various kinds of singles. A song released via radio in a radio format is considered an official single. As you can see, also Fear for Nobody, L'altra dimensione and Le parole lontane were released in Italy as radio singles only.--Alienautic (talk) 13:04, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Radio singles are those songs which are already included in an album or EP, and so they cannot be released in other formats (digital download, for example), but only via radio. I removed the misleading link to contemporary hit radio.--Alienautic (talk) 13:18, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It is strange.--ParoleSonore (talk) 13:58, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Heartfox can you explain better what you already said making a revert according to recent Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Songs#RfC on playlist adds in song articles? Also, how and when will we know the song was officially released as a single? --ParoleSonore (talk) 03:22, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If a song is released to radio, then yes it is a single. But "released to radio" is different from a radio station adding a song to its playlist. The key is that a record label has endorsed the release. In the case of BBC or Sveriges Radio that was here, yes they added it to their playlist, but they can do so for any song. There needs to be an official endorsement/release of some sort (a record label determines what's a single, not a radio station). This is the case for Italy, because we have the label stating what day it is being released to radio across the country. If there's a separate digital download it would be a single, if there's a physical release like a CD, if the record label refers to it as a single, then it would be classified as one, but playlist adds are not considered a "release" per the RfC. @Alienautic: @Heartfox: No. Single it's release type and song not released as single is just song not released as single played in radio. Eurohunter (talk) 10:34, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
