Notability[edit]
Aside from the current "advertising" tone, in my opinion this article's notability rests on the statement "iA Writer for Mac has been chosen as one of the Apps of the Year 2011 by Apple" (otherwise we will end up with wikipedia articles for every app ever invented!). However, there are no verifiable sources to support this. The closest I could find was http://www.macworld.com/article/1156312/appgems_productivity.html, but iA Writer came second, not first. Unless this claim can be referenced, I suggest the article is not notable and should be deleted. 1292simon (talk) 13:59, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Verifiability and Advertising language[edit]

Can the collective authors, or, I presume, the iArchitects employee that responded to 1292simon above (109.164.170.202 is just outside of Zurich), verify the implication that iA Writer is the inspiration for the market of focused text editors? OS X's Terminal application, for example, defaults to a light neutral background and monospace typeface, as does the default TextEdit. One could make a similarly unsubstantiated claim for those to have been inspiration to the focused writing application market (developers focus with the simplicity of a Terminal window, translate the model to writing, etc.).
Sorry, long way around to ask that someone neutralize the rhetorical choices employed in the text here. Wolfraem (talk) 21:34, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
Innovative Formatting?[edit]
Their website says the formatting is innovative, but I believe the formatting they support is nothing new (which is good), since it appears to be Markdown. I don't think they are innovating unless someone can explain to me to the contrary.
