Requested move 1[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: not moved. This request is somewhat moot now that this is a redirect to the album, but in any case "into", being a preposition shorter than 5 letters, should be lower case. See WP:CAPS. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 08:46, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm Into You (song)I'm Into You — Would like to move this page to I'm Into You, but I couldn't do it because there is a redirect. Can an admin delete the redirect and move this page? Thank you! Greets, Daniel 749 15:12, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

According to this update, "I'm Into You" has been removed from the April 26 section. Ozurbanmusic (talk) 00:16, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yep. But still on at Rhythmic tho HERE. Edited accordingly. Thanks for the update.—Iknow23 (talk) 00:32, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 2[edit]

No consensus to move. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:51, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm Into YouI'm into You – Per WP:CAPS any preposition shorter than 5 letters, should be lower case. "Into" is one of them. nding·start 19:51, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think its fine the way it is as the name is grammatically incorrect anyway is if it were it would be "I'm in to You." So I think it's meant to be "I'm Into You." Candyo32 01:59, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (capital letters)#Composition titles, it'd be "I'm In to You" as the first word of a compound preposition should be capitalized. As such, I'm tempted to say "I'm Into You" is fine since "Into" acts like a compound preposition ("In to"). Powers T 12:47, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Move?[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: page not moved per discussion below. Personally, I don't buy the compound preposition argument, but I can't go against a near-consensus to ignore the rule I would usually apply. - GTBacchus(talk) 19:57, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support, but again, I would recommend against using the uncontroversial route for a request like this. –CWenger (^@) 00:01, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Per above discussion ("into" is a compound preposition) and MOS:FOLLOW. Adabow (talk · contribs) 08:46, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. "into" is a preposition, and most people who use it do not bother with its etymology. The time when people claimed that "into" should be 2 words "in to", "passed in the time of my longfathers of old". (When I was younger a few pedants claimed that "onto" is not a valid word, but that objection has stopped.) Anthony Appleyard (talk) 15:18, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
MoS regulations should not be used when sources are contradictory. I have not seen any reliable sources calling the song "I'm into You". Adabow (talk · contribs) 20:27, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • "into" is a preposition before its noun and with less than 5 letters, and so should be lowercased. That seems plain. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:26, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That is a silly use of the MoS. MOS:FOLLOW - otherwise we would still have Right thru Me and Girls Fall like Dominoes. It is not up to us to decide how titles are capitalised, however if there are contradictory sources we should look to the MoS. Adabow (talk · contribs) 07:38, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, per MOS:CAPS 'Into' is a compound preposition and thus should remain capitalised as this is a published work and lists it so. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 23:07, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. I mean, come on, this is the longest and arguably most important word out of the three that go to make up this title. Whyever should it be this one that gets decapitalized? If we are going to apply our rules (and in the case of capitalization, I agree with Adabow that we should only consider our own rules when sources differ), we should do so with a certain amount of intelligence.--Kotniski (talk) 08:47, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in I'm Into You[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of I'm Into You's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 10:25, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
