story of the song "I’ll Be Missing You" by L.V.![edit]

“I’ll be missing you” is a number-one hit single, recorded by P.Diddy and Faith Evans. It released 1997 in memory of Notorious B.I.G., who was murdered on March the 9th 1997.

The original song was written by Sting for the band Police and the song was called “Every breath you take”.

On March 1997 Notorious B.I.G got shot in L.A. Until now it’s not proved that it was an act of revenge of the dead form Tupac Shakur six months before. The death of both of these popular rappers from the ghetto of the east and the west coast was the summit of the conflicts between both groups of rappers.

P.Diddy wanted to create a song for his friend Notorious B.I.G., he took the song “Every breath you take” as the basis. Together with the widow of Notorious Faith Evans sings the refrain. P.Diddy himself sings the rap parts.

The single reached number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in the United States. --86.32.115.88 13:56, 1 October 2006 (UTC)--86.32.115.88 13:56, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New[edit]

@ResolutionsPerMinute I did not change the date in the Infobox, I corrected the radio date in release history because the source does not state May 20. R&R never gave a date I checked, but Billboard did so that's why I added that with the quote aswell.

"On May 14, Bad Boy/Arista set a National Remembrance Day for fallen rapper the Notorious B.I.G. and all victims of senseless violence. The day also served as the radio/video premiere for two songs dedicated to his memory, "I'll Be Missing You" from Bad Boy family members Puff Daddy, Faith Evans and 112, and "We'll Always Love Big Poppa" by the Lox." 2A00:23C7:1104:F601:99D2:D54D:AECD:A521 (talk) 00:01, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That's not the problem. Read the quote from the source you added. It says, "The day also served as the radio/video premiere..." A radio premiere is not the same thing as a radio release. You are misinterpreting the quote. That's the issue. ResPM (T🔈🎵C) 00:06, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
