I think you're right - I'm changing it to 1647, which is what it says on the Swedish version of the site, as well as adding a little more information directly translated from that version. I'm also removing the student groups paragraph. These are irrelevant to anyone who didn't go to the school and many who did.
I don't know the details about the grant founding of the school, but there were a lot of people living in the area before Gothenburg was founded and granted city rights. –– Henriok (talk) 18:28, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
