How far west?[edit]

Areas west of Highbury were not historically considered part of Huron Heights. The area between Highbury and Briarhill, north of Huron, was historically known as Ridgeview, while the area south of Huron to Oxford was more an eastward extension of Merwin Heights, while the block formed on the north by Landor and the west by Wistow was the Canadian Armed Forces' PMQ subdivision. The area south of Oxford between Highbury and Clarke Road was London Junction. Huron Heights Phase One consisted of the area on the southeast of Highbury and Huron, extending to Cheapside and Stronach PArk; Phase Two extended from Sandford (an unintended access road later established as a public highway on proving to be a necessary access) to Sorrel Road; Phase Three extended east of Sorrel to Kaladar Drive; Phase Four, often known as Huron Village, was located immediately to the north, its west edge being defined by Pawnee Crescent and Aponi Crescent. Phase One streets appear to have personal names; Phase Two and Three appear to have references to British history or persons; Phase Four streets have non-traditional (e.g. European-applied) names of First Nations tribes, though Cheyenne Avenue was renamed Oakville Avenue.
