Newcastle Airport[edit]

Despite the signage, it's quite silly to include Newcastle Airport as a destination. Yes, it's possible to get to the airport, but it's possible to get anywhere from the same turnoff. To get to the airport you have to leave the freeway, drive along Renshaw Drive, pass the Pacific Motorway end, join the New England Highway, turn left onto the Pacific Highway, turn right onto Cabbage Tree road, left onto Nelson Bay Road, left onto Williamtown Drive and then reach the airport, a distance of over 34km. The route to Sydney Airport is actually less circuitous. Road signs often include arbitrarily chosen destinations and we aren't under any obligation to follow suit. --AussieLegend (✉) 05:23, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]


Buchanan Interchange[edit]

The buchanan Interchange is the most complicated interchange . The reason is that there was already two T intersections (One for George Booth and one for Buchanan Rd. ) They have been merged into one roundabout..

I added the "next suburb" destinations - Beresfield, East Maitland, Kurri ,Mt Sugarloaf , and the description of how to get to that destination in the "road name" place.

George Booth drive and Buchanan Road meet John Renshaw drive at a 2nd roundabout just to the south west of the expressway.

So there's a three level setup at Buchanan Interchange. The Express way, and the north facing ramps, go OVER Buchanan road . John Renshaw drive goes over the Expressway.

To head toward East Maitland at this interchange, exit toward Kurri on John Renshaw and then take the Buchanan Rd exit at the nearby roundabout To head toward Mt Sugarloaf at this interchange, exit toward Kurri on John Renshar and then take the George Booth drive exit at the nearby roundabout — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.164.7.28 (talk) 14:46, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
