Merger proposal[edit]

There appears to be two articles here for the same building. I propose we merge the two together. See Hotel San Carlos (Phoenix, Arizona) for more information. Thanks. Cygnusloop99 (talk) 23:20, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, good catch. No need for a big discussion, of course they should be merged. Merging.... In the process, I am restoring the NRHP name for the hotel in the NRHP infobox (in order to show this is the article covering the place having the NRHP name).
Also, in the merge, i am putting the NRHP infobox below the existing Hotel infobox. It would probably be good to make a combined infobox. In some other areas, like for lighthouses or ships that have their own infobox types, the NRHP infobox is sometimes/often stripped down and embedded within the other infobox. That requires some attention. There's some info at the Talk/Help pages for the NRHP infobox, if someone wants to take that on. However, here maybe the hotel infobox should be dropped in favor of just showing the NRHP infobox. --doncram (talk) 18:16, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, I didn't think it needed much of a discussion but im new and this was my first merge. I was just trying to follow some of the merge help guide info I read. Thanks for the help and support. Cygnusloop99 (talk) 02:41, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, good. It is definitely good to use the merge proposal mechanism if there is any possibility of contention. One thing that matters sometimes is which gets merged into which; I prefer for the newer article to get merged into the older one, losing the edit history in the newer one rather than the longer history. I guess i felt empowered to just go ahead with the merge, because it was me who had created the article being merged away. You're doing great! :) --doncram (talk) 03:52, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
