Hat note[edit]

May I propose that the hatnote be changed to not to be confused with Milton Keynes Central railway station which is, I suspect, what was intended in the first place. [The text originally read not to be confused with Milton Keynes railway station, which doesn't exist. But can we be sure that someone coming here by mistake is necessarily looking for MKC and not one of the other stations in the area? In fact, is the hatnote even needed given the difference between MKC and Horsted Keynes? Lamberhurst (talk) 20:59, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

None of the other stations in the Milton Keynes urban area have anything -Keynes in their name, so I would consider the probability of anyone coming here for one of them vanishingly small.

Indeed I too question the need for a hatnote here - seriously is there any credible risk of confusion? I only got here because periodically I check for mistaken references from anywhere to the mythical "Milton Keynes railway station" and found an erroneous hatnote here. Why anyone thought it necessary in the first place is beyond me. I was never happy with its presence. It seems to have originated with this edit, became a (misplaced) hatnote with this edit, migrated to the top with this edit (note my doubt in the edit summary), taken on its present destination with this edit and present appearance with this edit. --Redrose64 (talk) 06:29, 28 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
