Population[edit]

While the news website gave a population count, it's really not a reliable source for such. How does it define the boundaries of Hopeulikit? It's not like a census-designated place, which has known boundaries. The story's idea of "hundred or so residents" demonstrates its uncertainty: not something we would see in a reliable source, at least with small community like this. I'm not saying that a reputable television station is unreliable in general, by the way, or that this story is untrustworthy: simply that it's not really reliable in this specific detail. Nyttend (talk) 14:09, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you regarding the source for population concerning Hopeulikit. I would like to provide an accurate pop. for this article, do you or anyone else have any suggestions? I appreciate all your help! Thanks - BL00513
The best way is often to use the ZIP Code Tabulation Area of the community's post office. However, the ZIP code map that I find for the community says that it's located at the junction of three different ZIP codes, so that wouldn't at all be useful. Wordsmithing[edit]

This sentence needs to be changed: "Hopeulikit was founded in part by Beatrice and John Paul Ellis of Hopeulikit whose families have owned land in the area for generations.[1]"

You must get rid of the echo of "Hopeulikit". (As written, it distracts the reader from what you are saying. It makes him think "hm...if they founded it, how could they be from there?")

You could say something like this:

"Hopeulikit was founded in part by Beatrice and John Paul Ellis, who were from the area where the village now lies, and whose families have owned land in the area for generations.[1]"

Please let me know if I can help with the wording. I appreciate your taking the time to write this article. Mark.camp (talk) 23:28, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
