Dates[edit]

http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/h/holtby/index.shtml gives 11 Sep 1939 for closure, 2 days out from the date given in the article, which I assume is from Butt.

The same site questions exactly when the station opened, claiming it might have been 1848. Though the full picture is not clear.

Very minor differences in entire scheme. But could be looked at.Prof.Haddock (talk) 07:15, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Butt says 11 September 1939 as well. There are two conventions for station closure dates: "last day of service" and "first day without service". Butt uses the "first day without service" convention, and I believe that www.disused-stations.org.uk does as well. 11 September 1939 was a Monday, so if we assume that the station had no Sunday service, then 9 September 1939 (as given in the article), which was a Saturday, will be the closure date under the "last day of service" convention. --Redrose64 (talk) 15:16, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
ok thanks. I should work out a way to clarify this - maybe saying "closed from" (as opposed to "closed after").Prof.Haddock (talk) 03:00, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
