Don't know if they were the world's largest computer club but the book which I just referenced (edited by Adrienne van den Bogaard who is Assistant Professor at the History of Technology Department at the Delft University of Technology [1]) has a table which shows that the HCC had more than 200.000 members in 2003 ([2]). reliable sources[edit]

I see that some one wants a reliable source for the claim that thousands attended the hcc dagen in de jaarbeurs? Who is that idiot? There is no happening in the jaarbeurs with less than thousands or tenthousands of attendees. It is like wanting a "reliable source" for the claim that a car can pass under the arc the triomphe in paris. You will be hard pressed to find a book written by a professor that supports that claim.

I consider the liberal sprinkling of citation wanted's a kind of vandalism. Once it is there it is hard to get rid off and they are anonymous at that, so nobody can be called to task.
