Afrikaans translation[edit]

An anonymous editor 203.25.230.27 made many constructive contributions to this and related articles, but in all cases included an Afrikaans translation of the name in the opening paragraph. Since South Africa has 11 official languages, Afrikaans should not be singled out in this way. I would welcome discussion on this, but each time I attempted to contact the anonymous editor, these attempts were ignored, and each time I removed the Afrikaans translation, it was reinstated. I'd agree that it is silly and IMHO unencyclopeadic (sp) to include an Afrikaans translation of the name in an opening paragraph and that unless all official languages are given it is inappropriate. Surely it would be more profitable for the user to create an article in the Afrikaans wiki, resulting in a link on the sidebar. If of course a subject lends itself to different names in different languages then a discussion under a suitable heading would be useful - again however this would mean that there must be more than one language. Jurisdiction - adoptions[edit]

As far as I understand the High Court does not deal with adoptions normally as they fall under the Children's Courts (which are part of the Magistrates Courts), also another matter of status divorce is handled only by the High Court and the specially established Divorce courts (well not so specially but you know what I mean). The whole tone of the article is wrong. Yes adoptions are handled by the children courts, but those enjoy the same status as the high courts. In truth the high courts are trumped by decisions in the Supreme court of Appeals and the Constitutional Court.
