Possible information to include[edit]

  • Business details (num of employees) here
  • I have a FoodNetwork episode that can source this info so it isn't marked as primary
  • They are a partner with Share Our Strength [1]
  • Some sources for the decline of mall locations [2]
  • Appear to also service Canada [3]
  • not for inclusion but entertaining [4]

  • Food Network content: sorry, not the best with prose! (2004 was original airdate)

Hickory Farms claims that 93% of Americans recognize their label, making them the most recognizable specialty food. History of Hickory Farms starts in 1951 when founder Richard Ransom went to fairs selling their most popular item, Beef Stick Summer Sausage. Their first store opened in Toledo in 1959. They sell 12,000 pounds of beef stick every year. Have over 500 food items in their catalog, which includes candies, cakes, nuts, and crackers.During the year they have 300 employees and over the winter holiday they have 5,000 employees. They sell over 5 million gifts every year.[1]

  • Extra notes: Their website no says they have 6,000 seasonal employees, which indicates a jump in sales?
    • The numbers are outdated by a bit (4 years old), but some should be useful. That's about everything useful thing they said in the couple minute slot. §hep¡Talk to me! 22:57, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
