Deceased cast members?[edit]

does this have any reason for being in or even place in this article? Belinda Emmet's death was tragic but i don't think it means that someone should go through all the roles she ever have mentioning that she died. WookMuff 07:31, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. We all know she's deceased. I think it's going a bit overboard to mention her death on the page of every show she appeared in. Besides, she's already credited in the regular cast list. I think that should be enough. T5806 07:29, 6 January, 2007 (UTC)

Season/episode maps[edit]

In response to a letter I sent to the Seven Network Australia in December, I received a Hey Dad episode list, detailing all titles, production codes, airdates and season/episode maps for the series. I have made the appropriate corrections to the episode listing, based on this list. IMDB has also been corrected. The German link has been removed as the info there is currently incorrect. Fair use rationale for Image:Tbohd.jpg[edit]

Image:Tbohd.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Sex Scandal[edit]

This is a reference to the sex scandal that has been added and deleted recently. [1] Not terribly reliable and it makes a point of mentioning any names. There might be better out there AIRcorn (talk) 07:21, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As the actor has now been named in national newspapers is it a BLP violation to do so here while they are still allegations? Wayne (talk) 15:07, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see why the actor can't be named seeing as he was named on A Current Affair last night Swanny92 (talk) 23:34, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Below is a link that is relevant. The link is to a talent company that is owed by hughes wife and represents Hughes and fellow Hey Dad actor who has spoken of the allegations http://www.rgm.com.au/msv.html (Davhosking (talk) 02:39, 25 March 2010 (UTC)) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davhosking (talkcontribs)

Sexual Abuse Claims[edit]

These claims have been widely reported in mainstream news: [2]; [3]; [4]; [5]; [6]; [7]... I will start adding this information and these references to the article. Format (talk) 17:57, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The claims have had wide coverage, but they almost all come back to A Current Affair and Women's Day, neither of which have a great reputation for fact checking. while some coverage in the article makes sense, too much weight would be a significant BLP concern given the current state of proceedings. - Bilby (talk) 08:13, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • This needs to stay out of here until the dust settles, there have been no complaints to the Police, this is tabloid gossip for which people are being paid large sums of money to titillate, please do not replace it. Off2riorob (talk) 09:50, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • This is not a blanket censorship, the insertion was totally excessive, why not write a simple statement about the major claim similar to the comment that has sat unreverted on the Sarah Monahan article. That the has been a claim of inappropriate touching and that Hughes totally denies it, with a couple of the higher quality citations and leave it at that and wait to see what happens. Off2riorob (talk) 10:37, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The biographies of living persons (BLP) policy mandates the removal of unsourced controversial material about living persons; this material is not unsourced, and indeed it is attributed in the text to the sources from which it is drawn. Blanking it is not justified by the BLP policy. As Bilby indicates, the real issue is weighting and the length accorded to this material. If someone would like to trim this instead of blanking it, they are welcome to do so. --bainer (talk) 10:44, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You should do it, you are the one that is now responsible for inserting it. Off2riorob (talk) 10:45, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Faulty Sexual Abuse Claim[edit]

I may only be an Internet detective however I've noticed the following contradiction in the claims of Sarah Monahan. She was born in 1977, which means she was TEN YEARS OLD when the show started in 1987. This isn't very hard to prove, just look on Sarah Monahan and Hey Dad..! for more info. This means her claim that the abuse started when she was six makes bonkers to no sense. At six years old she had not been casted, neither had Robert Hugues himself. This indicates that she is making shit up, and I dispute the neutrality of this article if it doesn't include this information. I am an Internet Detective, not an Internet Wikipedian, so it would not be jurisprudent for me to make this edit myself. I am far too important to actually edit these articles, you're up, losers. --Johnubis (talk) 21:38, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Hey Dad..! pilot was made in September 1985; Monahan states on her website that she was six at the time [8], however, if her d.o.b. is 12 April 1977 then she would have been eight. In this article it is reported that Monahan was molested "from the age of nine". Filming of Season 1 would have commenced in 1986, by which time she would have been nine. WWGB (talk) 06:31, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yet she says that she was six, someone else pulled the nine figure out of their bum. Anyway, I am mostly just drawing a point on the slack fact checking of ACA and Women's Weekly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnubis (talkcontribs) 09:31, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hughes is commencing legal action through his representatives according to his statement on a current affairs program, we need to be careful not to discredit information purely because it appears on current affairs shows. Statements such as "we all know what current affairs shows are like" are still generalisations. Claims against the credibility of Monahan are just as prejudiced as those who assume that Hughes is guilty simply because he has been accused and that numerous allegations are being made from other "so-called" victims.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.74.157.29 (talkcontribs) 114.74.157.29 (talk) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.

Actually, the pilot was filmed in March 1985 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086729/trivia. They then filmed a couple of series before it went TO AIR in 1987. Sarah was 6 when she auditioned for the show. 64.132.4.68 (talk) 19:18, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's not correct, twelve episodes were filmed before the program went to air, not "a couple of series". See List of Hey Dad..! episodes. WWGB (talk) 02:21, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Watch the ACA interview with Gary Reilly. At 11mins in, he states the Pilot was filmed 2 years before the first series. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.199.248.181 (talk) 18:47, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request from 121.217.145.235, 14 March 2011[edit]

{{edit semi-protected}} I believe that the following 'In response to Reilly's claim that he was unaware, Simone Buchanan and Christopher Truswell came forward and alleged that they had separately approached Reilly during the show about Monahan's allegations towards Hughes, but had been warned to keep quiet' is incorrect. I believe that the reference to Christopher Truswell should be replaced with Ben Oxenbould. I know that Chris didn't come forward, or know anything about this. It was Ben Oxenbould, who came forward on A Current Affair (already referenced in the article) to say he had approached Gary Reilly about this matter. 121.217.145.235 (talk) 09:59, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: quoted source is reliable and backs up the prose in the article (although I did remove the second source per WP:CIRCULAR). If you have a reliable source for your claim please add it here and re-add the edit template. Thanks. -- gtdp (T)/(C) 09:00, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Chris Truswell went on ACA and said he didn't know anything when the story first broke. He also went on ACA again a year later, saying he didn't know anything again. Ben Oxenbould was the other cast member to go to Gary Reilly. http://aca.ninemsn.com/video.aspx?vq=ben%20oxenbould#60b41083-4c76-470f-971f-aab2d63a5f99 Here's a link to the video so you can see it. Theme Song[edit]

The theme song sounds very similar to this spanish song; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsr_k2qq0qU&feature=related I'm not sure which song is older. Did Hey Dad rip it off or vice versa? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.30.55.212 (talk) 00:53, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Number of Seasons[edit]

The article says there were 8 seasons, but in the article there is a statement about Martin leaving at the end of season 12, and IMBD has a list of 14 seasons. Perhaps this needs fixing? 124.171.19.88 (talk) 03:55, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
