GA review (see here for criteria)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose): b (MoS):
    A few minor things:
    • "Early life" needs a bit more context. It should be made clear that Bangor was in Gwynedd. Also it should be explained that the see of Bangor was under the Archbishopric of Canterbury, and that it therefore was Canterbury's responsibility to consecrate the Bishop of Bangor. This is elaborated on a bit further down (I wikified Metropolitan bishop), but it need a short explanation also here.
    • On the first, rewrote to say "Bangor at the time was in the Kingdom of Gwynedd, which had recently been overrun by the Normans, and...". The second was dealt with by changing the last bit to "Bangor was under the jurisdiction of the diocese of Canterbury, but Hervey was consecrated by Thomas of Bayeux, ..." • "described the situation as:" - "as" does not lead into the quote. Perhaps "as follows:"
    • Took your suggestion. I hate introducing block quotes. Ealdgyth - Talk 19:24, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • "borther" - is this your misspelling or is it in the original? If it's yours, an easy fix, if not it should be followed by [sic.]
    • legatine council - this is a very specialised term that we can't expect readers to know. If you can find a proper wikilink then fine, if not, don't be afraid of redlinks.
    • Fixed. I fully intend (one day) to write an article on legatine councils... someday... Ealdgyth - Talk 19:24, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • Apparently a recent study shows that redlilnks is one of the main factors that drives article creation, but many editors (myself included, I have to admit...) are reluctant to include them for aesthetic reasons.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
That's it, hope that's all reasonable. I also did some copyediting, for your approval. Let me know when you want me to have another look! Lampman (talk) 16:21, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Good job, I'll promote it now. Lampman (talk) 20:15, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
