Location[edit]

Would it be more accurate to say that Heracleopolis Magna is in Lower Egypt, not Upper Egypt? - BobKilcoyne (talk) 05:47, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No. Lower Egypt only covers the Delta Region. Heracleopolis is thus in Upper Egypt (or Middle Egypt, for that matter) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:16B8:EBF7:9C00:8853:E2AF:ED72:B41C (talk) 20:26, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ihnasya[edit]

@Absudar, Vif12vf, and Deor: We now have a separate article on Ihnasya, but its talk page redirected here. I've created a second talk page for now. Is it helpful to keep both articles, or should they be merged? Certes (talk) 19:09, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Someone had moved this article to Ihnasya back in September, and I just undid the move, creating a redirect from Ihnasya (and its talk page) to here. That person then created the new Ihnasya article by overwriting the redirect page, and there was no activity on its talk page, so the talk page remained a redirect. Since there is a modern town in Egypt named Ihnasya (or Ihnasya al Madinah), I see no reason to merge the articles—cf. Caesarea Maritima and Caesarea, Israel, or Sparta and Sparta, Laconia, articles about ancient and modern settlements at basically the same locations. Others may differ, however.
