This movie is an excellent illustration of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, or "NPD". I know; I have a mother just like this. When I was young she beat me every time I showed an interest in a girl and told me that "girls are bad", that I disappointed her for being interested in girls. Later in my teens all the women she worked with, their sons suddenly had girlfriends and she then started screaming at me that she was ashamed because I didn't have a girlfriend and this, of course, made my mother look weird and ashamed in front of her co-workers -- and this time, I disappointed her for not being interested in girls. And I was beaten again. The end.
