Language is a bit liner-notes-y[edit]

"...the development of the music machine to its present status as a powerful entertainment medium."

This seems a bit unencyclopedic. I assume "music machine" is a way of referring to the phonograph and all its successors as one thing. If that's the case, perhaps the article could say something more like "the popularity of recorded music." Richard K. Carson (talk) 22:53, 28 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, this is a weird one. Unclear statements, tenses all over the place; vague, uncited milestones that raise eyebrows rather than informs. Certainly this bio could use some attention? Pinikadia 17:12, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
