Help (Papa Roach song)Help (song) – No other song article by that title per WP:SONGDAB / Disambiguated from "Help!" (song) per WP:DIFFPUNCT JohnCWiesenthal (talk) 02:59, 4 October 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). BegbertBiggs (talk) 18:09, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This was under "Requests to revert undiscussed moves", but I see no previous undiscussed move. This also looks ambiguous with Help (Beatles song). — BarrelProof (talk) 03:17, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In theory, the Beatles song is differentiated under WP:SMALLDETAILS since it includes an exclamation point in its title. However, SMALLDETAILS questions have historically been contentious, so I think this move would need to go through the full RM process. "Help! (song)" distinguishes the Beatles song from this song, but "Help (song)" does not distinguish this song from the Beatles song. WP:SMALLDETAILS can be one-sided where, as here, only one of the titles is fully disambiguated in isolation (or a primary topic). SilverLocust 💬 12:56, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - I created the article at its current location 6 years ago, but I think I just used this name because that was the redirect being used at the band's other articles. I don't really have strong feelings either way, but if I had to chose, I'd probably say keep it at its current location. The proposal is valid, but does leave room for misunderstandings. The current location doesn't. Sergecross73 msg me 18:26, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Revised stance to oppose. In addition to above, I'm just not really sure how many casual readers are even aware of the exclamation mark at the end of the Beatles song. Sergecross73 msg me 13:47, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per WP:ASTONISH. 162 etc. (talk) 21:55, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong oppose DIFFPUNCT doesn't generally apply with the absence of a detail as it generally doesn't "indicate a distinct topic" as the exclamation mark is likely to be omitted sometimes. The Beatles song has 6,206 views compared with only 319[[1]] for the Papa Roach song. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:31, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per WP:ASTONISH. Clearly this obscure song is nowhere near being the primary topic. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:12, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, it was the number one rock song at US radio for 6 weeks in 2017, so I wouldn't call it "obscure", but yes, the Beatles song is infinitely more popular and well known. Sergecross73 msg me 13:25, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
