Notability[edit]

The current version of this article cites an impressive number of references, but (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) almost all of them are either appear to be written by the subject of the article herself, or are mainly about Wikileaks Central and a related project announcement, rather than about the subject of the article. In other words, I am not sure if the condition of the general notability guideline ("has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject") is satisfied.

Also, despite this article being about this person and her life, even basic biographical data like nationality, age and education are missing. And 41 of the 56 references concern the proposal or announcement of "Global Squares", a project that never seems to have materialized (at least wiki.theglobalsquare.org/wiki/Main_Page , linked in some of that coverage, is a spam-infested ghost town now). Lastly, if she is notable as a political theorist as it is claimed in the first sentence, it should be possible to cite some academic literature that has been discussing, or shows the influence of, her theories.

PS: I just removed two references where the cited source did not support the statement that it was cited for. It may be worthwhile to check other parts of the article as well whether they accurately reflect what the references say. Regards, HaeB (talk) 08:27, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This looks completely self written and I question the notability of the subject. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.228.153.107 (talk) 05:00, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

I have just gone through and removed 65 of the original 125 sources all of which were either blogs self published articles or a whole line of sources that don't mention the subject. This is the worst case of bombarding that I have ever seen. Almost all of the major contributors are WP:SPA and I wonder if we shouldn't WP:TNT the article so that a serious editor can start again. @DGG: what do you think? Domdeparis (talk) 18:02, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There are two ways of proceeding. What you suggest is one good way; the other is to continue remove the still extensive duplication and fluff and see what is left. But she very probably is notable. DGG ( talk ) 18:23, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sure she is notable (unfortunately as it would have been simpler to nominate for deletion) I'll keep trying to clean it up and see what's left. Thanks for the reply. Domdeparis (talk) 23:24, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Anarchist Category[edit]

Hi, Marsh is in Category:Anarchist_writers, Is there a citation for this at all? I found the following quote but can not tell if it is saying she is an Anarchist or that she is saying she does not consider herself an Anarchist, merely a Democrat. I'd like to take a call from someone who has read her work. “And it is customary for those who uphold this absolute form of secretive tyrannical rule to call people like me anarchists, but if all anarchy means is there are no absolute rulers or centralized authority, then shouldn’t that be a basic tenet of a democracy?” Thanks. She's not saying she's a Democrat. She's saying anarchism is democratic. She opposes copyrights and patents, and holds other views I associate with anarchism. But I haven't read her writing. Mcfnord (talk) 06:12, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notability and delete proposal[edit]

The delete proposal was removed with just the note "Likely passes NAUTHOR" but Id like to know what part of that she meets. There are four standards and she fails every one of them. Notability has been in question on the talk page since 2013. Neutrality has been disputed since 2019 and promotional tone template was added this month. There are four citations needed tags and one clarification needed.

What part of WP:NAUTHOR does she meet? Softlemonades (talk) 12:49, 24 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I just tried to address some of these problems, but I dont think it makes the notability any clearer Softlemonades (talk) 13:06, 24 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
