Hallie[edit]
Hallie is not a variation of Hayley and so should not be included in the list of variants on this page. Hallie is by origin a pet form of Harriet, just as Hal is a pet form of Harry and Harold. Hallie was in frequent use as a given name in the 19th century before Hayley was used as a girls' name. See http://www.behindthename.com/name/hallie about this. - I was going by the sources that I had. Other sources claimed that it was. Those sources were originally included in this article, but someone removed them. I have no personal preference concerning the name staying or leaving, so leave it out. I hate when two sources completely contradict each other. нмŵוτнτ 20:56, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
