Harz RailwayTrans-Harz Railway – Logic:

  1. The current name is not an accurate translation and is confusing, because this is only one of several Harz railways.
  2. "Trans-Harz Railway" is an accurate translation ("trans-" = "across").
  3. It follows the common English convention for naming such railways (e.g. Trans-Siberian Railway, Trans-Andean railways and Trans-Australian Railway)
  4. It is used by many sources including railway specialists (e.g. railwatch and railfaneurope), Harz organisations (e.g. thisisharz) and the English-speaking press (Los Angeles Times).
  • Support - proposer's vote, for reasons stated above. Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 06:07, 12 July 2012 (UTC) Bermicourt (talk) 11:56, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - I've never heard of it refered to in this way in English. The official name in German is Harzer Schmalspurbahnen [1], which translates as Harz Narrow Gauge Railways An optimist on the run! 12:22, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment. I'm afraid that's not correct. The Harz Narrow Gauge Railways (Harzer Schmalspurbahnen) is the name of the company that runs the entire network, not this line, which is one of three that they operate. And "I've never heard of it" is not really a valid line of argument. --Bermicourt (talk) 16:23, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I'll rephrase my comment: I do not believe that Trans-Harz Railway is the most common name for this railway.  An optimist on the run! 16:16, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
