Census info for an unincorporated town?[edit]

Something's strange about some of the information given on this page. The population is said to come from the 2000 census, and other data looks like census data; but Hartsel is an unincorporated town, which shouldn't be listed there. The fact that ArkyBot didn't find it makes me even more suspicious. I checked, but I could find no information about Hartsel, CO on http://factfinder.census.gov/

Can someone provide a more specific reference?

Thanks! -- Ken g6 02:43, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and the English and metric units don't match, either. -- Ken g6 02:49, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WELL HOT SHIT[edit]

Ken, did you try looking Hartsel up by its zip code of 80449? Lots of information there using the zip code. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.53.16.138 (talk) 18:02, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's interesting. There is a lot of information there, but it all seems to be demographic. That shows where some of the data comes from, but not things like town area.
The only geographic information I see so far is a ZIP code map. That ZIP code covers a very large area, much larger than the town; but that could explain why the stated town area is much larger than, e.g. the nearby City of Woodland Park which has 10 times as many residents.
While it can be hard to define the borders of an unincorporated town, if all of the census data applies to the ZIP code, I don't think the data should be stated as applying only to the town. Woodland Park's ZIP code, for instance, also includes communities like Crystola. Do you think it would be better to state that the data applies to the entire ZIP code, or to remove the data entirely?
