Location[edit]

The village Bakhtia is located at 62.464463N, 89.002168E. I think it's important to have it in the article, but I don't know where. 93.172.140.69 (talk) 22:15, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Questions not yet answered by this article[edit]

In case anyone wants a tiny research project,

1. Did Herzog pay the people he featured, if so, how much? 2. Did Herzog spend a full year living on the Taiga? If so, what supplies did he bring to support his own food needs? 3. Etc.

Thanks! 67.164.18.219 (talk) 08:38, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think these are all addressed in the article- the whole thing was shot by Dmitry Vasyukov, and edited into a 4-episode TV series that aired in 2007. None of this involved Herzog at all. Somehow Herzog found out about the project, and decided to create his own film based on the same footage. Herzog (and his team) re-edited Vasyukov's footage and wrote his own narration. So Herzog didn't live in the Taiga at all, and almost certainly did not pay any of the people that are featured in the film. I assume he did somehow pay Vasyukov for the use of the footage.
