Comedy, drama or romantic comedy drama?[edit]
I changed the main page to identify this film as a drama, not a comedy. It has some comedic interludes, but it is a drama. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.112.147.174 (talk) 20:18, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
I changed it to comedy drama, but I saw in history that it was regarded as romantic comedy too. I have found one citation (1986 article in The New York Times) which says it is "dramatic comedy". Not so good reference ([1]) says that too. Also, according to [2], Gerald Nachman at San Francisco Chronicle says [the movie is] "Sad funny and richly romantic", so it hints to the romantic comedy and maybe drama. - I appreciate your taking the time to glance at the full cast list in the form it is presented on screen. Since the article's talk page is the venue for suggesting improvements and additions, it also serves as an adjunct for featuring text which may not fully fit into the article. In this case, users should be able to see the cast list in its exact appearance, rather than in the cherry-picked form that it is presently featured in the article under the section header "Cast", which would be, more appropriately titled "Selected cast".
The heading "Cast (in order of appearance)" is featured in the credits to inform the audience the reason for the seemingly arbitrary name order, which is clearly not alphabetical. Without such a heading, various editors are tempted to rearrange the names in a personally-deduced "order of importance", as has previously happened in the specialized cast lists of this and other films.
Furthermore, this talk page cast list deliberately redlinks names which do not have a Wikipedia article, thus enabling users who care about such matters to easily distinguish the positioning of those missing cast members amidst the names of blue-linked actors.
Even among the entries which are blue-linked, five are missing from the article's current cast list — The 39 Steps, Beverly Peer, Moses Farrow, Paul Bates and Bernie Leighton — thus preventing, if not depriving, those five entries from having a link to Hannah and Her Sisters, other than a link, above, within this film's talk page.
Ultimately, as the section header for this discussion indicates, this complete cast list, as it appears on screen, is for the record. Anyone who cares enough about the film to peruse the article, may also wish to peruse the content of this talk page or leave a comment, possibly regarding the redlinked cast members. Although a number of the redlinked names will likely never rate a Wikipedia article, they were a part of this film and were listed on-screen, therefore the talk page is the place where such a list may be properly positioned.

The on-screen opening credits depict ten cast members under the heading "Cast (in alphabetical order)", while the closing credits depict fifty-one cast members under the heading "The Cast (in order of appearance)". The film's theatrical poster depicts the same ten names in the same alphabetical order as the opening credits. Any other name orders would have to be considered WP:POV.
