N.A. as a part of firm names?[edit]

The HSBC Bank USA, N.A. Memeber FDIC ... signs with the firm name N.A. or National Association respectively. This used to be an organization type reserved for football leagues or the NRA. How come? This should be explained. --Gaschroeder (talk) 09:02, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Headquarters location discrepancy[edit]

HSBC says, "HSBC Bank USA, headquartered in Buffalo, NY,"This article says, "head office in New York City." This article says "the official headquarters are in Wilmington, Delaware." The HSBC site says that the headquarters are in Prospect Hills, Il.

I think the confusion stems from the fact that HSBC USA uses different names in different states. This is from the HSBC website:

"For deposit accounts opened at an HSBC Bank branch located in California, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington, or for accounts opened by telephone or Internet, the accounts are held by HSBC Bank USA, N.A. For deposit accounts opened at any other HSBC Bank branch located in any other state, the accounts are held by HSBC National Bank USA."

Does anyone have some clarification here? --Varco 00:04, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
