Additional info[edit]

Following uncited information added in a good faith by user GERRY01 caused a cite error. I have moved it here for discussion.

As soon as the atom bombs were dropped, Tally-Ho made a trip through the Solomons, making a series of stops at the villages on the islands. The crew went ashore several times on Malaita where they were entertained by the natives. There were several cases of malaria, including the captain. They finally arrived at Obama on the north coast of Japan half way between Tokyo and Hiroshima along with other submarines and the depot ship Adamant.

Allowed shore leave, Bob Williams and his friends in the crew made their way to Hiroshima where they walked amongst the ruins and collected souvenirs.

Bob died at the age of 80, with no ill effects from radiation.

The source for this is his note book S.O. Book 135 - Code 28-72. G.R. (Supplied for the PUBLIC SERVICE) detailing how he had to know how to operate every piece of equipment in the submarine in which he also describes his experiences.
