New article[edit]

This page should be confirmed as a valid Wikipedia article, because it contains good and relevant information, and there are no article on Wikipedia like it; there are also few websites with information about H1 bulbs.

In addition, Wikipedia is free to rearrange the article's information to satisfy guidelines. Theluxuryperformance (talk) 01:07, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

How do I insert pictures directly into the article? I took the pictures, so they are not copyrighted (besides by me). Theluxuryperformance (talk) 01:17, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Start by uploading the images. From there I am not exactly sure. You are trying to put images directly from a website; on Wikipedia that will not work.Simplebutpowerful 02:03, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you that helps. However, when I click on "upload file" on the left, and then the following link directly to uploading the file, an error comes up: "Unauthorized, The action you have requested is limited to users in one of the groups Autoconfirmed users, Administrators." Theluxuryperformance (talk) 03:30, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's where I am not exactly sure. By the way, you say that you wikified the page, but I think you may have added a few too many links. I might take out a couple that aren't really necessary.Simplebutpowerful 21:54, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You want H1 Bulb redirected here? You got it; give me a second...Simplebutpowerful 22:26, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Invention[edit]

H1 bulbs were not invented, but designed by engineers using established technology. That technology is the halogen lamp, probably indeed invented in the early 1960s.

Messy Article[edit]

Well I added an infobox and a history. This article honestly is VERY VERY messy, containing large amounts of forum material and the like. It lacks much factual information (i.e. 100W out of 55W current draw is a lie) and in turn lacks any cohesive order. I will work on it over the next few days and see what I can do with it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PedroDaGr8 (talkcontribs) 18:45, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are were right. :-) I've gone through and comprehensively overhauled this article. All the unencyclopædic material has gone away. The article can now serve as a conceptual template for articles about other specific lamps (H2, H3, H4, etc.), but before we go creating too many individual articles, we probably ought to look at expanding this present article to cover (all) headlamp bulbs, and rename it accordingly. Speaking of renaming, "lamp" is the preferred term; "bulb" is vernacular. There's plenty of support for that. So if we do nothing else, we ought to look at renaming this article H1 lamp. —Scheinwerfermann T·C21:48, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, AWESOME job. Good point on lamps being the proper term. I agree it should be renamed to H1 Lamps and have the usual bulb descriptions redirect to here. I have a proposed WikiProject that I am trying to create that would deal with lighting. Maybe you would like to join? I am trying get the numbers up enough to make it a real project, instead of proposed one. I think wiki rules say 5-10 members to go from a proposed to a real project. Cheers, and nice work again on the article.Lighting|Proposed WikiProject Lighting PedroDaGr8 (talk) 23:07, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
