In creating this article with a macron in the title, I'm well aware that there's generally disapproval of including them in article titles, since this is the English Wikipedia, not the Hawaiian. However: please note the GNIS source that is the basis for most of the article: it lists Hōnaunau as the official spelling, not Honaunau. Nyttend (talk) 00:12, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted?[edit]

I had added the following information, which the above user deleted:

The major point of interest is the Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park. The park is reached via Hawaii Route 160 which runs from Route 11 (the Hawaii Belt Road) at the post office, down to the ocean.

As for the spelling, of course both are seen. I would say without the diacritical is more common. Perhaps a page from Honaunau to here instead of the CDP would make more sense?

Can't find a good source for Route 160, or for the NHP being the major point of interest. I've restored the park itself, since it's on Rand McNally atlas; and I've changed the redirect. Nyttend (talk) 02:14, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
