Does anyone know who Gwydion really is, at gwydion.la?

Etymology[edit]

Per Talk:Celtic_polytheism#Accuracy_of_linguistics_in_theonyms_table I have removed inaccurate etymology section. 84.64.0.65 07:19, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well done! You've anticipated one plank of an ongoing project of mine, which is to clean up and (as much as possible) verify and (where not possible) cut out the specious speculations bestowed on Wikipedia by User:GeoffMGleadall a long time ago. Thank you very much.
By the way, there's surely been some consideration in actual scholarly circles about the name Gwydion and it's etymology. Anybody heard anything? QuartierLatin1968 El bien mas preciado es la libertad 17:16, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, John Koch in the Celtic Culture encyclopedia supports the "born-of-trees" etymology.[1]. I think it should be considered plausible, which it isn't in this article. MaryJones (talk) 00:12, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
