Coibrand or Colbrand?[edit]

I see both spellings in the text - perhaps we should just pick one. [Colbrand & Shakespeare] gives 8 different spellings! Jpaulm 19:02, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Major inaccuracy[edit]

"Guy of Warwick, translated from the Latin of Giraldus Cambrensis (fl. 1350) into English verse by John Lydgate between 1442 and 1468"? Giraldus didn't flourish in 1350, he died in 1223! Is there any evidence that he ever wrote anything about the Guy of Warwick legend? I always thought the earliest versions came after his death. I haven't corrected the mistake because I don't know what the person who put it in was trying to say - was there another Giraldus, perhaps?

Please fix this ASAP.

Lydgate claimed the chronicle of Gerald of Cornwall (Giraldus Cornubiensis) as his source. This Gerald did indeed flourish in 1350 but only extracts of his work survive. I've corrected it now. ANB (talk) 16:39, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
