New/Upcoming biography[edit]

Information online indicates a 2006 publication of a bio on Nordenskiöld. May be of future interest. WBardwin 20:01, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Possible title "The Baron of Mesa Verde: Myth and Reality" by David and Judith Reynolds. ""When Gustaf Nordenskiöld made the first scientific study of Mesa Verde in 1891, he ignited American prejudices of European, fancy-pants aristocracy—whether they were relevant, true, or not. For the last four years Reynolds, a freelance journalist, and her husband, David, a retired researcher, have studied the life of Nordenskiöld. Establishing contact with both American and European descendants, the Reynolds have been granted access to family archives as well as collections at the Royal Swedish Academy of Science and the Museum of Cultures in Finland. Their complete biography of Nordenskiöld will be published in 2006 for the Mesa Verde Centennial."
Ah, found it. Has been published. "Nordenskiold of Mesa Verde" Reynolds, Judith/ Reynolds, David / PAPERBACK / 202 pages / Xlibris Corporation, April 2006. ISBN: 1425704840 WBardwin 20:05, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Here is an interesting link: Mancos November 1891: Dear Mom and Dad by Judith Reynolds — Preceding unsigned comment added by Petri Krohn (talkcontribs) 18:22, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The above link is now down.

The reference to a book called American West is a mistranslation. The correct translation is From the Far West as translated by Renee Valerie of the University of Chicago.
