comment[edit]

This is really confusing! Can anyone make this clearer? Big time this makes no sence........

I agree - the lead paragraph says that the series does exhibit similarities in electron configuration, but the Chemistry section says they don't. I presume this both can be considered true, depending on whether one is talking about the entire series, or only the first two (Cr, Mo), or the series excluding the first two (W, Sg). Which of these configuration (13,1 in the outer two shells, or 12,2) should be considered "real" series . I suppose if someone had created some 20 elements beyond Uuo, that might answer it.. But that's probably not going to happen until humans become a Type 3 civilization in 200 or so years - if it's even possible to go out that far (is there a relativistic limit on the maximum size of atoms, or some other final end to the island of stability?) Anyway, I agree it's confusing.. Also, what is the reason the Aufbau principle is violated? I vaguely remember that some elements show oddities involving d and f sub-shell electrons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jimw338 (talkcontribs) 00:31, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
