Citation needed?[edit]

"Boyd is also a former Oneness Pentecostal, and wrote the book Oneness Pentecostals and the Trinity (1992) critiquing the movement's doctrine of God. He also charged Oneness denominations such as the United Pentecostal Church with legalism for their teachings on issues such as baptism and hair length."

I was thinking something like an MLA footnote/endnote just in case someone wanted to go directly to the page in the book to get Boyd's quote regarding the charges made against the Oneness denominations. It's just a thought. But the charge of legalism is a weighty charge. I thought a citation would be appropriate. I won't quibble if you think its not required in this case. Important Books[edit]

I added Boyd's other books and added the ISBN numbers for reference. I also changed the section to Authored Books instead of Important Books. In light of the recent vandalism on this page (which may be the work of one person jumping computers, given how often it and Brian McLaren's page are vandalized by the same person at the same time), would it be worth asking the admins for temporary protection? Then tag the statement that is not supported rather than invalidating the reference, which is what the additional tag implies. In his sermons he clearly states that chain of events and I'm sure he's written about it. I have not read books, but another editor may have. I've done it two different ways and you reverted both. Neither "raised Catholic" nor "became an atheist as a teenager" is in that reference. Can you make the proper change yourself so that I don't do it another improper way? OneGyTT|C 07:01, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's been five days. Can you either tell me exactly what to do, or do it yourself? The sentence that I had added the "not in citation given" tag to had *zero* facts that were verified by the citation. The sentence says, "Boyd was raised as a Roman Catholic but became an atheist as a teenager." So, two claims: 1) "raised as a Roman Catholic" (not in the citation), 2) "became an atheist as a teenager" (not in the citation). The citation says he converted from atheism to Christianity as a teenager, but says nothing about when he became an atheist or what denomination he converted to or what he was before he was an atheist.
Again, the sentence I added the tag to had exactly *two* claims, *neither* of which were verified in the reference. So I added the tag, with the reason, "The Facebook page doesn't mention either fact." I'm not sure what you mean by "tag the statement that is not supported rather than invalidating the reference." I tagged the sentence, which has zero supported statements. Date of conversion from atheism to Christianity[edit]

I'm unfamiliar with the book that cites the age of his transition from atheism to Christianity. In his sermon/podcast from last week, "You Are Not the Tree", he indicated that it was in his teens, 17 if I recall correctly. He has also stated that he had an on-off relationship with the faith based on earlier sermons, the date of which I cannot recall. He had a final understanding when he was 19. The event happened after a service while speaking with friend in the church's parking lot.
It's my understanding, in common Evangelical terms, that he was converted at the earlier date and was assured of his faith at the latter date. I'm not sure how we would reference that though and if it meets WP:NPOV. Walter Görlitz (talk) 14:10, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

MOS:ACCESS[edit]

There is an agreement first at Template:Infobox musical artist#genre where several individuals involved in ACCESS stated that lists shorter than three items do not affect screen readers and so it was included in that infobox. {{Infobox musical artist}} isn't used here. And you said very specifically that you were referring to a provision in MOS:ACCESS. Which one is it? The only relevant provision I can see says "Do not separate list items with line breaks (<br>). Use {{plainlist}} / {{unbulleted list}} if the list is to remain vertical; or consider {{flatlist}} / {{hlist}} if the list could be better rendered horizontally (inline) as described in the following two sections." 142.160.89.97 (talk) 06:05, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
