eden?[edit]

I don't understand. What is the connection to Eden Cemetery? Staib (talk) 01:57, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • African-American cemeteries around Philadelphia.--evrik (talk) 16:21, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • I know the connection of Eden Hall and African Americans. It was a stop on the Underground Rail Road.Bigjoe5216 (talk) 23:29, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • That seems highly unlikely, as it was not established until 1902!--BillFlis (talk) 12:18, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • But according to the Knights of Pythias article, the group was restricted to whites until the 1950s. The famous interments listed for Greenwood at Find-A-Grave say nothing about race, but Marie Noe, and presumably her children that she murdered, appears white in a photo I've seen somewhere.--BillFlis (talk) 18:25, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Right - Greenwood was not historically African-American. The other two on findagrave and many others there were white. --Staib (talk) 01:28, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BillFlis - If you would like to see the records of the Knights of Pythias Greenwood Cemetery, I have about 200 lbs. (maybe 4 lin. feet) of them that I will be donating to the Historical Society of Frankford. I am a researcher and live one block from Greenwood.Bigjoe5216 (talk) 23:29, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. In Greenwood's Charter, Constitution and By-laws, no "coloured people" were allowed to be buried there. Today many people of any color or non-color would be caught in there dead or alive.Bigjoe5216 (talk) 23:29, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ownership, lawsuits, etc[edit]

I think the information that was removed on the lawsuits, etc. belongs in this article rather than on Benjamin Rush and could be done in npov way. Staib (talk) 06:24, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have put some of the facts back that I could verify, in what I hope is a neutral way. I think we can do without the insinuations of wrongdoing, especially by the judge. Good luck in extricating all that stuff intertwined into the Rush article!--BillFlis (talk) 12:57, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Great - this sounds good for now. Staib (talk) 16:20, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
