When people turned in their old coins, what were they paid in? Was it paper notes? If so, would these have not been majorly counterfeited themselves?--Jrm2007 (talk) 03:37, 10 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Coin 1696[edit]

Rare this coin is, on the front depicts the King with worn words on the coin smooth edges and a hammered look. " GVLIEEMVS III*DEI*GRA" is what it looks like?. On the rear ET*HIB*REX*1696* MAG much of this worn. Has 4 symbols of the family hertiage one worn beyond recognition, opposite of lions fluer-de-lis3, a harp, and 1696 above the lions3.
