Merger[edit]

The merger would be a good idea. Dr. Dan 17:40, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

four hours?[edit]

There is no possible way this fire burned 400 square miles in four hours. See the progress of the current BWCA fire even in high winds. I removed this bit of info from the article -Ravedave 17:22, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, this is documented, so it should be returned. 72.11.102.187 (talk) 18:45, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Size of fire[edit]

The article as written variously describes the final size of the Hinckley Fire as being 420 square miles (1,100 km2), 810 square kilometres (310 sq mi), and greater than 400 square miles (1,000 km2), while the single online reference says 480 square miles (1,200 km2)[1]. I realize that a historical event like this may not have an exact measurement, but does anyone have access to a more authoritative reference? -- BlueCanoe (talk) 18:24, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Large quotation from Hinckley Fire Museum[edit]

Is the size of this quotation acceptable with regards to Wikipedia's policy on quotations, copyright, and use of non-free content? It seems pretty large -- perhaps we can work on paraphrasing and citing the Hinckley Fire Museum as an inline reference? -- BlueCanoe (talk) 18:24, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Temperature inversion?[edit]

Sure this is correct? That the relatively cooler 1,100°C forest fire was trapped/capped by a layer of much hotter air above it? Doesn't really make sense... Leo 86.83.56.115 (talk) 14:06, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
