Modifying for the Past Tense[edit]

Now that Grant Joint Union High School District is no longer in existence, and has been merged with Twin Rivers Unified School District, I am pairing down this article, and trying to get it into the past tense. I am not sure if the whole article should be merged or not, since it did exist for a long time, and had notability in the area. I appreciate any feedback anyone might have. --Pordaria (talk) 06:04, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merger[edit]

This article needs to be updated to reflect the merger. Although, the dust may need to settle a little bit to do that properly. In the mean time, as I find articles that may be relevant, I will post them here in the discussion page --Pordaria (talk) 16:29, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect Information[edit]

Zenobia Gerald, director of Grant's Communications Department, contacted me today, informing me that some of the information that I had posted in the original article was incorrect. As I get more accurate information, I plan on updating the page. Or if anyone else has more accurate information (that is verifiable) I hope they will post it as well. --Pordaria 01:54, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with NPOV[edit]

Apparently some editor of this article has confused an encyclopedia article with free advertising space, as first person plural phrases like "...has approximately 1,400 employees and we are proud of their many accomplishments" or "We are considered an urban-suburban school district..." attest.

Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Neutral point of view.

I have discussed this issue with Grant's Communication Department, and plan on doing some clean up. The person who added this section was doing Wiki editing for the first time, and was being Bold, but was not aware of all of Wikipedia's guidelines. --Pordaria 00:02, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I have done some modifications of the article, and I hope it is now within bounds of the NPOV rule. I removed a few sections that I either couldn't easily make NPOV, or that I felt contained non-encyclopedic information. I still think it is good that the Grant Communication Department is taking an interest in Wikipedia, and learning more about it. --Pordaria 00:31, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:GrantGlobe.jpg[edit]

Image:GrantGlobe.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Why I removed the tag asking for geographic coordinates.[edit]

Even though this is a former school district, the merger is so recent that the former offices might still be in use by the new, merged district. In the United States it's never a good idea to put the coordinates of an active school or its affiliated offices on Wikipedia. Oona Wikiwalker (talk) 04:23, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
