Grandad's birthdate[edit]

I have to take exception with the birth year of 1909 for Grandad Trotter. Working backwards, Rodney is 23 years old in the debut episode in 1981. This makes his birth year 1958, probably, depending on the month of birth. Del is 13 years older, making his birth year 1945. Del says that Mom was 39 when she had Rodney, making her birth year 1919. Assuming that Mom and her husband Reg were of a similar age, this would make Reg Trotter's birth year around the same tim, meaning that Grandad was about 10 years old when Reg was born.

The year 1909 would be consistent with him being a 'little nipper' when the First World War was being fought, as per the episode 'The Russians are Coming'; however, it conflicts with all other ages (and the presumed birth dates) mentioned in other episodes.

I realize that these continuity issues are minor and do not detract from the show. In fact, they keep me interested in watching in order to find them!! Grandma Roses 19:06, 20 July 2007 (UTC) 20 July 2007[reply]

Disambiguation[edit]

I'm rather surprised that an article about a TV character (albeit a very notable one) is currently located at Grandad. I would have thought that most people searching for Grandad would expect to find an article on the topic covered by Grandparent. Perhaps this should be turned into a disambig page?
