Photos, maps, and random thoughts[edit]

I was thinking that the article should have a map to show the general location of whats going on. Now my question is should I just create the map myself using autocad then converting or should I try to pull something off the web. I am not sure if I make it would be usable in the essence that it could fall under Original Research.

As for Photos, I am working with GRCC to see if they could release the photo of the Calkins to Wikipedia Commons. If they dont then I will just have to spend some time and run down there and take some photos myself.

Another item is there is a another facility being built. From what I gathered its just a medical office space with parking underneath. As such I been having issues finding a name for it. The only info I found is this, Christman & RDV Corp. Michigan Hill Project. The other project I found out is the Women’s Health Care Center of West Michigan. That was a 2006 listed project I did not hear about. --Mihsfbstadium 02:06, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If it's just an office space with parking, there's probably no need to include it in the article. Pyrospirit (talk · contribs) 02:48, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well I did some digging around and found that indeed its just offices and parking. But its more or less a component of the entire stretch. It should get a section of its own as soon as I see a site of some sort talking about. Right now its being handled by the construction/design firm that is working on it. The property itself is owned by the firm so until they decide to release more info on a site of some sort I wont post anything. The Womens facility will get an article shortly. Probally next week provided I find a site. I think I saw one but I just want to double check. --Mihsfbstadium 18:00, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RDV/Christman Medical Complex[edit]

Just to clear up some things on the Michigan Street offices/parking development:

The entire complex on the North side of Michigan from Coit to Division is informally called the RDV/Christman Medical Complex (referenced repeatedly by the Business Journal and the GR Press). It is/was owned and developed by the RDV Corporation and Christman Companies (out of Lansing). It will eventually consist of 4 separate "towers" built on top of a $60 Million/2700 car parking ramp. The parking ramp will be leased to multiple users, including MSU, VAI and Spectrum.

They sold the Westernmost portion recently to MSU for their College of Human Medicine, and sold the Easternmost portion to Spectrum Health for the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion. The remaining two towers (one of which is under construction now) will house Spectrum medical offices, which will replace the current Towers Medical Building to be demolished early next year, and will also house 2 - 3 floors of "hotel space" for visitors to Health Hill. There is a rumor that the complex will receive the name "Hopewell Center", but that is unconfirmed at this point. I would definitely include it in the listing, as neither the Cancer Center nor the MSU CHM could have been built without it, and the offices will house integral operations for joint Spectrum/health partners services.

As far as the Women's Health Center of West Michigan, that is being developed by Third Coast Development and is part of the MidTowne Village complex.

Hope that helps! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grmagellan (talkcontribs) 15:09, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I been thinking I will have to add it in shortly. Since I dug up enough info I can cross the bridge and add it in. The key thing is to note the Spectrum Building that is getting torn down. That is why I am going to add it over anything else. Just not going to post any pics of it until AFTER it is completed. As for Hopewell center. I hope not actually. There is several of those centers named that in the country. I prefer to stick with something original. --Mihsfbstadium (talk) 17:06, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well its up there now. I put it on the bottom. I am not sure if I should just add it to the Spectrum part or not. I know RDV and Spectrum have some shared people and what not but I dont know if I should use the article to show that. The major issue is that no source will talk about the under the table dealings with this project. Oh well in the end its still a plus for the area. --Mihsfbstadium (talk) 02:38, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article Title[edit]

This article should be renamed Grand Rapids Medical Mile to reflect the new name it has been coined. This is even evident in the official signage the city of Grand Rapids is constructing to guide visitors through the area. Reallycoolawesomeguy (talk) 21:26, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I wasn't aware that it had been officially named to that. I've made the move; could you help us out some more if you have time and link to a website stating the official naming so that we can cite it as a source? Pyrospirit (talk · contribs) 00:06, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I seen some pictures posted on Urban Planet but I am not sure if that would work. I do not recall if their was an article to go with those. --Mihsfbstadium (talk) 00:05, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
